We cannot confirm if there is a download of this app available. I normally model on the TV live in front of them, but I do like the idea of some flipped learning where they learn individually and at their own pace, with the video tutorials. Downloading 3D Slash for Mac from the developers website was possible when we last checked. It’s an easy app to use, and what I do is have the students watch some of the tutorial videos first. You can also do other things like paint on blocks, cut out curves, fill in a box or shape or even overlay an image to use as a guide to chip away at. You can chip away a block at a time with the hammer, slice away a whole line of cubes with the chisel, rebuild a block at a time or a line at a time with a trowel. I thought this was a nice contrast.ģD Slash ( )is a free to use (mostly) website online where anyone can create an account and sculpt away.
You start with the block, and you find your hidden art within by chipping away at it. With 3D Slash, as with any sculpting, the idea is that you now do the opposite. With Minecraft, of course, 99% of the time, you are placing blocks to create something. In a way, this project is like reverse engineering what the Grade 3s did with Minecraft.
